Club Championships
2000

We have a
winner!!

The Country
Brewer would like to congratulate our newest Club Champion Warrick Try (right) from Berowra on winning our “Country Club Championships” for
2000.
The championships were judged in conjunction with the
Royal Bathurst Show where Warrick scored an average of 37
out of 45 for a strong ale he brewed based on a Kilkenny style beer from
our recipe sheet.
Warrick, new to the competition scene, has produced some magic beers
that have performed well in both the Lithgow & Bathurst
Shows.
We don’t have to wish him luck for the future as the beer he
produces, speaks for itself. NSW
State Championships ….Look out!

Rookie of the
Year
There is nothing more satisfying than see
a new brewer get enthusiastic about brewing and being rewarded for his
efforts.
Bernard Valis (right) started brewing in November 99 and
quickly started producing beers your seasoned brewer would be proud
of.
After
encouragement, Bernie entered beers in both the Lithgow & Bathurst
Competitions getting him some great results. He was over the moon when he
found out he got a 4th place at Lithgow on his first attempt,
which prompted his to go out to the Bathurst Show and make a weekend of
it.
We knew he had got a 3rd place but we didn’t tell
him, so it was not surprise to us that the Saturday he visited the show,
our phone went off…
“I got a
3rd, I got a 3rd”, he said. Good on ya
mate! |
